Choosing your Wedding Photographer

Article Posted: 1 August 2007

When selecting your photographer for your big day,you may find a confusing amount of information and a huge range in prices and quality. Here are a few points to consider:

Visit the photographer and ask to see some of their current work. The photos should be consistent in quality all the way through the wedding day. Do the people look relaxed in the photos and have they captured the emotions of the day?

Is the style of photography what you are looking for? Whether it be classic, contemporary or photojournalistic.

What experience has the photographer had. You want absolute confidence that the photographer has the skills and confidence to cover all possibilities including rain, badlight, wind, camera malfunction and emotional relatives.

Is the photographer willing to listen to your ideas and to take any special or unusual photos you want? A good photographer should be able to incorporate your ideas into their photography.

Does the photographer offer black & white, sepia and cross processed photos. Photos that have had some computer enhancement or manipulation are now also being offered by some photography studios.
