Set the Date - A few things to keep in consideration when picking the wedding date.
Time of year
The weather can play a large part on your special day especially if you are having
a Garden or beach ceremony. Most weddings are held during spring as the weather is a bit more predictable. You have fewer restrictions with you selection of flowers as well as most flowers are in full bloom during spring
Public holidays
Some venues may have a surcharge for weddings held over Public Holidays keep this in mind and the venue/reception is the large part of your costs. Don't blow the budget
Guests/Family travelling from interstate
If you have people travelling from interstate for your wedding keep in mind Accommodation availability. Will the wedding fall during School holidays, long weekends, special events (INDY). This will play a big part in the cost of travel and accommodation for four guests who most likely will have to pay for it. This could also be a large factor on whether they attend your wedding.
Special events
Anniversaries, (birthdays/deaths) father's day, Mothers' day, Football grand finals etc It may be a special occasion for you but will is be a sad reminder to others?
Day of the week
Think about the day you would like to have your wedding. Most venues will offer a discounted rate if you have a mid week wedding. This date will be with you for the rest of your life, so pick a good one.
Once you have decided on your wedding date, have an alternative date as special dates like 07/07/07 or 08/08/08 may have been booked. Be flexible and you won't be disappointed.
No! Its time to hit the road and do the leg and find a venue…See you next month
