Theming/colour ideas
Classic – Defiantly Black and white
Romantic – Red, gold and silver colours are best with this theme
Beach – sand, shells, water, earth tone
Fairytale - pastel colours, pinks, mauve, lemon
Floral – Frangipani, Roses, Lillies
If your not sure of what to do or don't have a creative side stick to this motto "less is best" you can't go wrong.
A simple, single layer, neat and elegant invitation is just as nice as one with 3 layers, ribbon and texture. Choose an invitation that will show your personality. Don't stress if the colours you have chosen are not exactly the same colour as the bridesmaid dresses or the flowers you have chosen, as the most important detail on the invitation should be the date, time and location of the ceremony/reception.
You also need to make the decision on wether you want to make and print the invitations yourself or having them professionally made. Your budget will also determine this for you.
If you are going to make the invitations yourself a good idea is to purchase a few single sheets of different designed paper with the accessories you think may look good. Take them home and make a MOCK invitation. What you visualise in your mind may not quiet look the part when put together. Get the girls (Bridesmaids) together for a girl's night in and play with the invitation. You will be surprised on what you come up with.
