Shopping for your Wedding Dress

Shopping for your Wedding Dress

Shopping Entourage
When it comes to your wedding dress, pleasing yourself should come first
Shopping alone for the first time is a great idea as it will give you a chance for you to see what you like and not get distracted by comments from others. Limit the size of your entourage. One or two people is plenty - any more could be confusing.

Whats in your wardrobe?
Before you go shopping for your dress, take a long, hard look in your closet—What styles do you favour, colours, designers, body shapes.

Dash of colour.
A hint of colour to a white wedding dress will brighten up your gown. A sash in a colour that compliments your skin tone will make a sometime drab white dress glamours.

Heirlooms
If you'd love to wear your mothers wedding dress but it doesn't fit or is damaged, have a replica made.

Beads
Glass beads are just as dramatic as crystal beads at half the price

Does your dress fit?
Make sure your dress is a tight fit―especially if it's a strapless design. Its not a good look for a bride tugging at her dress the whole night.

Preserve your dress
Send your wedding dress to a cleaner that specializes in dress preservation right after your wedding day. The longer you wait, the less likely stains will come out.

Something Blue
Monogram your name, fiancé's name, and wedding date on a blue lace hankichief.  You will need one on the day anyway.

Hem lines
If your gown has a lace hem, be sure to wear  satin shoes with no beading or clips so your dress doesn't catch on it.

Lingerie
keep it smooth, clean line and elegant under your wedding dress.  Save the lacy lingerie for the honeymoon
